Joyce was one of my best friends in high school, eons ago. We lost touch until a few years before her death. She was such a nice young woman, always to be counted on when needed. I got a kick out of her halloween costumes, and loved seeing her art. The world will be a lesser place without you in it, Joyce Saku.

Dear Joyce, I'm sorry to hear that you passed so young. We were classmates at Yokota High in Japan, and worked side by side as yearbook section editors. I know you and Kurt and Anne kept in touch, and when we visited Hawaii, you were a gracious hostess. Thank you for showing such kindness. Your artwork (a talent I was unaware of) is beautiful! Rest In Peace, until we meet again one day.

I have learned much from you and will miss you my friend.

Sorry to hear the passing of such a wonderful kind hearted person with her own brand of humor. This coupled with a calm demeanor and such pleasantry made Joyce a fantastic person. That is how I will fondly remember her. It is with a sad heart that I give my deepest condolences to her family. God Bless.

Joyce was a warm, kind person whose sweet, calm spirit enriched all who she touched. I was lucky to have worked with her and offer heartfelt condolences to her loved ones.

Shock, disbelief, great sadness, great joy, and a smile..., emotions no different from anyone else who has lost someone to soon and too young, however for me, Joyce was different in some undefinable way, b/c I had plans.

Yes, the world lost a treasure, but I am selflessly taking this personal. I never found a fake or false anything about Joyce, and I loved her for it. Her capacity to care was boundless and can be found in her art if you look hard enough; and I loved her for it. Her dignity, pride, and depth of character took my breath away, and I loved her for it. Someone once said that a person's greatness is not in what they say, b/c we will soon forget; nor is it in what they do, b/c we will forget those "things" next. What we remember the longest and their greatness comes from how they make us feel, and Joyce Saku Charlton will be with me for a very long time. I am just sorry that I never found the time to tell her how great she was... Today, call a friend, or tell a child that you love them.

joyce was the best organizer i've known. wherever she went, she brought order to chaos. she had depths that many of us will never know. with her passing, the world is a lesser place. where she is headed, there will be many cloud colonies that will benefit from her skills ...

Deepest condolences to the friends and family of Joyce. It was such a pleasure working with her. A delightful surprise when I found out her fondness for Halloween - such fun to see what she would come up with every year. Quiet warrior who made a difference to many. RIP Joyce.

With a heavy heart I send my condolences to Joyce's family and the Savets.
I am stunned.
She had such a gentle energy and spirit which you could feel from her art work. I feel honored to have had some part in guiding her passion in palette knife oil painting. My heartfelt condolences.

God must have needed you more than we did for he took you too soon. But I know that you will straighten out his office the way you did mine. I will cherish the memories.
